Day #26: KaBoom! – The Runners Have Landed
Check out this great infographic from RunningShoes.com.
It is easy to take our modern running culture in the USA and throughout the world for granted. But running has not long been so popular or even accepted. The infographic below shows how the running boom from the 70’s and 80’s is faring in the last decade. It has blossomed indeed! We run on the shoulders of those who came before – and we are going strong. Keep it up!

And while we are on the running infographic roll, I thought I’d include this great graphic as well. Check out Who, What, Where, Why, When and How us runners carry on. Enjoy – and be inspired!
I love the “weird and random” runs, and have participated in 3 (soon to be 4!). My very first run was called Spe-RUN-king, and was a cave run that was a 4 mile loop in a sand mine. I then ran in Color Me Rad, which is similar to the Color Run, on my birthday in Knoxville, TN (about 8 hours away from my home city, St. Louis). My most recent fun run was the Cupcake Run, and in a few weeks I’ll be running in the Color Run in my home city. I really really want to do a zombie run, but they tend to only “come out” around Halloween.
